Now let's dig into the details, now that you've been given a quick overview of the frame's features. 

What is ePaper?
The ePaper frame is a digital frame that makes digital images look like they were printed on paper. Hang the frame on any wall just like a traditional photo frame. ePaper is not a backlit technology like your computer monitor or television screen. Those require constant power to function. The ePaper frame is made of a material that is charged with color particles, setting them in place, where they no longer require power after being set in the material. The only power used is what is used during the particle charging stage onto the material. Once charged, the image will remain indefinitely in a similar way to traditional print. The image will appear just like it was printed on real paper, giving it a traditional look and feel. Display photos, paintings, illustrations, and digital signage.

How often do I need to charge the frame?
ePaper technology allows the frame to be very energy efficient. The frame consumes minimal power when it is in sleep / standby mode. If the frame is set to refresh once a day, the battery will last about 1 year. If the frame is set to refresh once a week, the battery will last about 2 years. The image on the frame may be displayed indefinitely without needing to charge. A USB-C charging cable is included.

Can I schedule different pictures to appear?
Yes, In the app you can schedule a specific time or interval to swap out the picture on the frame.

How many images can the frame hold?
Currently, you can upload up to ten images into the frame from your phone using the Aluratek eFrame app. You can upload more, but as you do so, the oldest image will be removed to allow for the new image.

If you prefer, you may remove the ePaper display module from the frame and matte, reducing the overall size, and insert the ePaper module into the acrylic base (included), which will allow for easier display on desks and countertops. This is a very useful feature as people have been known to use our digital frames as digital signage at their places of business.

The frame includes the mentioned white and black mattes and changing them is surprisingly easy. There are no tools required, and there is no danger in removing them as it will not damage the frame. Be careful should you use a tool not to use harsh tools that could tear the matte. The matte is paper and can be damaged if tools such as screwdrivers and other sharp or pointed devices are used.

What is the Aluratek eFrame app?
The proprietary eFrame app is downloadable from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store for your smartphone. Once installed, you'll complete the account creation process and begin pairing your phone to the eFrame. Once paired, you will be able to select up to ten photo(s) from your phone and upload them to the frame. 

You'll continue to use the Aluratek eFrame app to manage your frame, uploading images, selecting images for display, deleting images from the frame, and scheduling the time(s) for the frame to display and function.

Must I use the app to control the frame at all times?
There are low-profile controls on the side of the frame that will give basic control over the frame without the use of the app. There is the USB-C charge port, the main power button, the Reset button, and the Next button. If you would like to upload an image, schedule image rotation, schedule sleep and wake-up times, you must use the app.

You've mentioned mounting kits?
Correct, we've provided two mounting kits with the frame. The screws hold the wire bracket and screw into preset screw holes. No need to use a hammer or screwdriver to do this job. The mount kit will allow you to mount the frame either in a vertical or horizontal orientation.
