What kind of connection will you need in the car?

It will work with any car which has wired Android Auto™ option.

Does my radio have to have Android Auto™?

Yes, you need Android Auto™ already built into the car. The adapter itself does not give you AA, it just provides the wireless connection. In most vehicles you have to connect your iPhone to the car via USB cable because that is how the car grabs the Android Auto™ software. Most cars up until the 2024 models (depending on the maker) needed that USB connection to get the icon and software for AA to operate.

Can you stream your video apps?

No. Audio and maps only.

Will this adapter work if my car head unit does not have Android Auto™?

No, it does not.

Does this car adapter require a separate app to use?

No, the Aluratek car adapter is plug and play and does not require any additional apps.
