My wife has an HP dv2000 laptop. She keeps it on 24/7 and burned out her OEM power supply. I came across one of these units by good luck in a Big Lots store and had bought it for my Dell Netbook (I had accidentally donated its OEM power supply with a bunch of other adapters). The Aluratek STD 19034 works well with BOTH the HP and the Dell Netbook. NOTE: while I CAN use the same adapter end for both, technically the one that fits the HP is slightly too loose for the Netbook. There is another adapter that fits properly. ALSO NOTE: with specific regard to the comments of the negative reviewer, the adapter said to fit HP on the Aluratek box did not fit. I had to experiment with other adapters (after using a mm ruler to measure diameter) until I found the one that fits. Fit is does and work it does!
One of the biggest advantages of this unit over buying a device specific or OEM power supply, besides costing half as much as an OEM power supply, the Aluratek unit comes with a number of different, interchangeable, male tips. That means,it is easily adapted to virtually ANY device input. You DO need to assure the required POLARITY (whether or not the CENTER of the power input is + or -). There are a few odd devices that use a NEGATIVE (-) center and a POSITIVE (+) outer contact.
Also, one reviewer noted the absence of technical specifications for the power supply. The following is directly from my power supply:
