  • Back-To-School Playlist

    Happy Monday!

How many of you are students that are back in school? Are you excited to get back into the study mode and obtain some knowledge?! Sometimes, I miss school but most of the time...I don't. Haha! I definitely don't miss the exams, projects, and pulling all nighters! I had a really hard time studying because I would get distracted so easily - Netflix, Facebook, nap time...etc. But I know that one thing that really helped me was music. If I had the perfect playlist that could help me sit down in one place and focus, then I was good. I love that there are so many different radio stations that we can stream where we can create our own stations or playlists - anytime, anyplace. My favorite music streaming app is Spotify. I pay for the premium because I get to listen to my music on-the-go. Unlike Pandora or iHeartRadio (which are both very good apps), I get to create my own playlist by searching for my favorite songs. I have a playlist for work, at the gym, certain genres (hip hop, rock, classical..etc). If you are going to school, you probably have a study playlist...If I was still going to school, I would most definitely have a playlist dedicated for school and studying.

Here's what mine would look like...

Only 12 songs, but the great thing about having your own playlist is that you can add more songs and my song list always changes! As you can see my taste in music is wide ranged! From Rihanna to one of my favorite classical songs, Pomp and Circumstance...whatever helps me hit the books and study guides is good with me!

I also have a work playlist that I'm always listening to at Aluratek with our WiFi Internet Radio.

It's awesome because Spotify is built into the internet radio and all I have to do is sign in to my account and my playlists are right there! There are thousands of internet radio apps and podcasts that you can download and install right into the WiFi Internet Radio!

    Anyway, happy studying!

  • Memorial Day Jams

In addition to honoring all the brave soldiers who have served our great U.S. nation, Memorial Day is a day where we love to barbecue out in the backyard, soak up the sun at the beach, and have relaxing picnics at the park with family and friends! Music is always a great addition to these parties so I have come up with a playlist containing some patriotic songs and today's biggest hits that everyone can enjoy on May 30th! Yeah, America!

Enjoy this playlist with our Bluetooth Portable Speakers or stream your music directly from your mobile devices to your speakers with our Bluetooth Audio Receiver!

  • Tech Necessities For Hiking!

This past weekend my husband and I made a weekly commitment that we will get up before sunrise and go on a morning hike. We both love nature and being active, so what’s a better way to start our Saturday?? Hiking, that’s what! It’s only Spring so we want to get our hikes in as much as possible before it starts to get REALLY, really hot.

A couple weeks ago, we were in Arizona hiking in Sedona. I was NOT prepared. I was carrying my water bottle in my arm and tucked my phone in my shirt, but at least I was wearing running shoes! Climbing steep walls was not the business while holding onto my water bottle that’s for sure!

When going on a hike, you need to ALWAYS be prepared. The obvious things: good hiking or running shoes, backpack, a hiking stick, and LOTS of water are the bare necessities for a hike. I usually carry my Camelbak to keep things light, but if I ever need to carry more than my water pack and a couple of snacks, I’m carrying my NorthFace backpack. However, it seems like these days we’re carrying more than just the essentials. Let's not forget that we're in year 2015 and there are many tech-friendly things that can be added along with the rest of your hiking gear that can make it more enjoyable and possibly easier as well:

    - I like to be in my own zone whenever I do any physical activities so I normally pop in my earphones and enter into my own world. Prepare your own playlist on your phone. I wouldn't recommend streaming your music because you'll be in the mountains away from service. Import your mp3 files in your phone so you can listen to them whenever. Aluratek has great earbuds that are specifically designed for physical activity.

Hmm what shall I listen to? iTunes!

-Carry a power bank in case of emergency! You never know what could happen on your hike so having a portable battery phone charger will be very crucial if your phone is ever dying.

    - If you like to keep track of how many miles you’re walking and calories you are burning download the Map My Run app. It not only counts distance and calories, but it maps out your path as well. I like to use it everywhere I go even when I’m not hiking!

So in conclusion: don't be like me in Arizona! Be prepped and ready to go!

That's me in Sedona, AZ and my huge water bottle :( Me and my huge water bottle :(

    Happy hiking, folks!
