  • Walk The Halloween Runway

Yay! Happy October! I love October because it means that the weather is starting to cool down, everyone is slowly embracing the upcoming holiday seasons, pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING, and Halloween costumes!

Every year I love to research and look up how creative and clever people can get with their costumes - even for their pets! Some are straight up hilarious and others are VERY creative - either way, they're all enjoyable and I would love to share some tech-related Halloween costumes I've found on the good old' internet this morning!

    1. Pokemon!

If you haven't been living under a rock this year, you will know that Pokemon has taken over the galaxy. With Nintendo's Pokemon Go app installed in almost every smartphone in the world, people are reconnecting with their old or current childhood moments - with costumes!

    2. Star Wars

People really go all out for Star Wars! I mean ALL OUT! As in, you can hardly tell the difference between the person in the costume VS. the actual character in the movie. For example, check out Queen Amidala...

    Pretty good, huh?

So cute! Girl version of Han Solo!

    3. Marvel

    Rogue & Gambit

How to make a Fantastic Four "Thing" costume

    Fantastic Four's The Thing!

    4. Anything smartphone related

Snapchat's Rainbow Barf filter! This definitely made it into one of the best and memorable things that ever happened with social media features so why not become one for Halloween!

  • Comic Con 2016!

Are you a pop-culture geek? You know, the type who lives for comic books, action figures, the next Walking Dead trailer? If so, then it probably isn't news to you that Comic Con 2016 is now over! Another year came and gone so quickly, but so many memorable events have occurred at this convention that people will always remember! I didn't get to go but thanks to the internet, I was able to update myself!

Here are some of the best things that happened at Comic-Con 2016, San Diego!

    Do you know this guy?

Yup. It's Kareem Abdul Jabbar! He is the NBA's all-time leading scorer and a six-time NBA champion. Oh, he's also now a writer. He debuted his first comic book, Mycroft Holmes and the Apocalyspe Handbook. So the hall of fame superstar was at Comic Con signing autographs and getting interviewed!

    Wonder Woman Trailer!

First superhero movie genre to be led by a woman? That's pretty awesome. Here's the trailer to the new "Wonder Woman" movie if you haven't seen it already!

    Spider-Man Sneak Peek!

    Surprise 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Footage

Fans of Spider-Man were gifted with a sneak peek into the introduction of the film! Tom Holland and other cast members were also present to talk about the film!

    Walking Dead

Oh my goodness. My favorite TV show! If you haven't seen the most recent season....please...please go watch it. It's absolutely insane! But anyway... :)

Not only are the Walking Dead family super close in the TV series, but even off-camera the cast members are just as close. From Jeffrey Dean Morgan to Steven Yeun to Norman Reedus playing practical jokes as always, this panel of different actors and actresses is what makes a really great show. They introduced the new trailer and talked about the series!

    Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2

Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper...do I need to keep naming names?! I mean what more do you need! The fact that Guardians Of Galaxy is having a sequel is totally worthy of jumping up and down screaming like a little girl! They showcased a clip and exclusive trailer only for the eyes of those who have attended Comic Con this year. Sorry - nothing has been released on the internet yet :(

  • Comic-Con International 2015

Today is Embrace Your Geekness Day. How perfect because yesterday was the last day of Comic-Con International! Comic-Con International is a multigenre entertainment and comic convention held annually in San Diego, California. They showcase primarily comic books and science fiction/fantasy and pretty much anything that follows these categories. Although I don’t personally follow comics or many series, I still think it’s really fun and exciting to see how fans get deeply immersed into this! Many A-list celebrities as well as HUGE TV stars made their appearances to this event and it just shows how significant Comic-Con is.

Along with panels, seminars, and workshops with comic book professionals, there are previews of future feature films, and portfolio evaluation sessions with top comic book and video game companies. The show include events such as costume costumes, award ceremonies, and the Comic-Con International Film Festival that play short and feature-length movies that do not have any distribution deals. Tens of thousands of devout fans pay to attend Comic-Con International and why wouldn’t they? It’s awesome!

Here are some moments of Comic-Con that are worth highlighting:

    STAR WARS!!!

Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford

  • Comic-Con Pilgrimage On Hold

Woud your wife let you out the house dressed like that?
It's mid July and there's not a whole lot of activity going on around here. Pretty typical for the summer months in the tech business. I guess the biggest thing going on around here other than the humid rain and thunderstorms is the Comic-Con convention happening right now in San Diego. Unless you've been living under a rock you are aware how big this comic-con thing has gotten. Especially due to the increase in the comic book movie genre and the big name celebrities who star in them.

To quote Vanity Fair: Make no mistake: the fanboys and girls who make their pilgrimage to Comic-Con each year show a level of devotion and fearlessness to which most of us will never commit. (Would you travel to San Diego and willingly brave crushing crowds and an onslaught of promotional material . . . for four days . . . while wearing a full-body costume (optional) . . . at the height of summer . . . and pay for the complete sensory overload . . . just to convene with those similarly passionate about comics, horror, sci-fi, and, in more recent years, blockbuster-film previews?)

To be honest I am a huge fan of the comic book movie genre and comic books and the whole thing. I consider myself a pretty regular guy but not too obsessed as some comic book fans can get. You should google comic-con and see all the wierd to strange to awesome things that go on. I have always been curious about the convention and so that is why almost a whole year ago at a wedding a few friends and I decided we were going to go for the first time. You have to pre-register first - that's how crazy it is. I remember going to bed early the night before and setting my alarm clock so as to not miss the registration time. I was sitting there at my computer waiting for the registration to open to click on a provided link that would take me the ticket buying page. My link didn't work. By the time I got it working I was in 1500th place and in real time you can see all the tickets disappearing - Day 1 - gone, Day  2- gone, Day 3 - gone. I had to have my friend get me a ticket because he had a better place in line. All I could get was a day 4 pass (which I can't go now anyway). Oh well, there's always next year.

Have you gone to Comic-Con? Are you there now? What am I missing...or not missing? Share your comments with us by visiting our Facebook page or leaving a comment below!
