is there a way to delete some of the pre installed books to make room for new books to download?? thanks

If you are using Windows:
Connect the Libre then go to Computer/My Computer, and look for the removable disk that corresponds to the Libre’s internal memory. Once located, double click on the removable disk. They should see a folder named Books; right click on the Books folder, and select Delete. This will delete the folder along with the 100 ebooks that it contains.
IF you are using a Mac:
Connect the Libre to the Mac, an icon named Unknown or No Name will appear on the desktop. Open the icon, and they will see the folder named Books. Drag it towards the Trash. After doing so, be sure to empty the Trash because Macs does not completely delete the files unless the Trash has been emptied.
