I was in New York this past week for my "mini moon" with my husband, and there were so many amazing sights and attractions to enjoy that I knew that I wasn't going to remember everything when I come back to California. Well thank goodness for my iPhone otherwise I wouldn't have been able to capture my memories. I realized that without my cellphone getting around The Big Apple would've been pretty difficult. You see, my sense of direction is pretty much non-existent, so without my precious GPS, I would be lost. Another reason I'm thankful for my cellphone is the ability to take pictures and videos ANYWHERE at ANYTIME. Everything is in super speed mode in New York, so I always had my phone readily available. I was able to appreciate the convenience and the power of the iPhone!!
One of my favorite memories of NY is when we went up to the "Top of the Rock" where a elevator takes you all the way up to the rooftop of the Rockefeller Center (70 stories tall), and right before your eyes is a 360° view of the entire city. It was absolutely BREATH-TAKING. You can see the Empire State Building face-to-face, and see all of Central Park. We shot many pictures and with a blink of an eye was able to send them out to friends, Facebook, and Instagram. We even took our Aluratek portable battery charger to juice up our iPhones once the batteries were running low. What a lifesaver it was!
I am able to appreciate and grasp things visually, so instead of writing it all out...why don't I just show you some of my favorite memories of our city adventure!
Surreal view of the city from our hotel window
CHICKEN OVER RICE from the famous "The Halal Guys"!!! I think we ate this 3 times (twice in one day!)
Katz Deli! The best pastrami sandwich you will ever have! Harry and Sally will agree!
Beautiful way finding signs everywhere in the subways! It's actually designed by one of the most iconic graphic designers, Massimo Vignelli.
Neon galore at MOMA (Museum of Modern Art)
Of course being a baseball fan, we HAD to check out the Yankees Stadium (mainly to see Derek Jeter play before his retirement)!! But my husband and I are Dodger fans, and we had absolutely no interest in the Yankees and the Indians so we left after the 2nd.....inning...........BUT we did enjoy a huge hot dog and a brew before we left! Hehe...
We visited the World Trade Center and the 9/11 Memorial Pool. All of New York is noisy and chaotic, but there was a wonderful peacefulness when we arrived at the memorial. Many tourists including ourselves came to pay our respect to the ones who have lost their lives in the September 11 tragedy.
"Looking straight up" shot with our fish eye.
Food coma at Battery Park.
Panoramic view of the city and Brooklyn Bridge!
Walking that concrete jungle in our worn out Nikes.
And of course a selfie on top of the Rockefeller Center!
This is just a snippet of all the pictures we took, but it shows a great glimpse of the fun and adventure we embarked in our little NYC journey! I would like to thank our iPhones for recording our trip, and my amazing portable battery charger for resurrecting our phones back to life! You guys rock!
